California Privacy Notice
This notice supplements our Privacy Policy for California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
Effective date: August 27, 2026. Operator: Apsida Foundation (apsidafoundation.org).
1. Scope
This notice applies to personal information that identifies, relates to, or could reasonably be linked with a California resident consumer or household, collected through the Platform. It does not apply to publicly available information or information exempt under the CCPA/CPRA.
2. Categories of personal information
In the preceding 12 months we may have collected the following categories:
- Identifiers (name, email, IP address, account ID)
- Customer records information (contact and organization details)
- Commercial information (donation history on the Platform)
- Internet / electronic activity (browsing and interaction on the Platform)
- Geolocation data (approximate, from IP)
- Inferences drawn from the above for service improvement (not for sale of profiles)
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information as defined by CPRA beyond what is reasonably necessary to provide the Platform (for example, account login credentials). We do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that require a right to limit under CPRA beyond providing the services reasonably expected.
3. Sources and purposes
Sources include you directly, your devices, fundraising organizations interacting with the Platform, and service providers/payment processors. Purposes match those in our Privacy Policy (operating the Platform, processing donations via processors, security, communications, and legal compliance).
4. Disclosure / “sale” / “sharing”
We disclose personal information to service providers and contractors for business purposes. We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration. Like many websites, we may use cookies or similar technologies that could be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You may opt out as described below and in our Cookie Notice.
5. Your California rights
- Right to know / access categories and specific pieces of personal information
- Right to delete personal information (subject to legal exceptions)
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing of personal information
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information (where applicable)
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising CCPA/CPRA rights
To submit a request, email privacy@apsidafoundation.org with the subject line “California Privacy Request,” or use Contact Support. We will verify your identity and respond within the timeframes required by law. You may use an authorized agent as permitted by California law.
6. Opt-out preference signals
Where required, we will process browser-based opt-out preference signals (such as Global Privacy Control) as a valid request to opt out of sale/sharing for the browser or device, to the extent technically feasible on the Platform.
7. Retention
Retention criteria are described in our Privacy Policy. We keep each category of personal information only as long as needed for the disclosed purposes, including legal and security obligations.
